Symeria Hudson is a former member of the Executive Committee, President of Global Franchises and Innovation for ConvaTec, PLC, FTSE 100 company based in London, England. In her role, she led Global Marketing, Research & Development and Commercial Operations across three of the company’s four business segments: Advanced Wound, Ostomy Care and Continence and Critical Care – portfolio value over $1.2 billion in revenue and managing a staff of over 130 employees across US, Latin American and Europe.
Symeria along with the Senior Leadership Team at ConvaTec, PLC, led the largest IPO by a healthcare company in Europe and largest MedTech IPO in the world since 2002- IPO in October 2016 with a market cap value of £4.39billion.
Prior to ConvaTec, Symeria was Global Franchise Head, Renal Home Therapies, a $2.1 Billion Business Operation. Responsible for full line of home dialysis products- devices, solutions, sets and ancillaries, driving all strategy development, new product developing from concept to commercialization. During her leadership launching new technology across 80 markets in the US, Europe and Asia supporting patients in Dialysis Care.
Symeria also served in several leadership roles at Hospira (now Pfizer company), $4.0 billion in sales focused on injectable drug & infusion technology company over 8 years with Hospira. Symeria focused on innovation, marketing, strategy and general management. Her roles included Vice President Marketing- US Region, General Manager, Vice President, Global Marketing and Vice President of Global Marketing. Throughout her career at Hospira, she led innovation for Infusion Device Technology, software and wireless products and sets and solutions, growing sales and margins with new innovation.
Before Symeria’s span in healthcare, she spent 10 years across Consumer Goods, Financial Services and Insurance Brokerage focused on marketing, financial and strategy with companies such as MeadWestvaco, including spearheading a start-up ecommerce operation (direct to consumer), growing the start-up to $100 Million.
Symeria’s varied career that spans more than 23 years across Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies given her a combination of health care, medical device and innovation.
Symeria has run operations across Healthacare, Financial Services and Consumer Goods with an expertise in driving innovation where she has launched over 100 medical technology products across the multiple countries, generating billions of revenue opportunities. Symeria is a faculty member at the Joseph Center School of Business at Living Word.
Symeria accomplishments have been recognized by numerous business and philanthropic organizations and she was named 2015 Top 50 Business Leader of Color, Chicago United Organization- promoting Board Ready Diverse Leaders, she has been an active member of her community, serving as a board member former member of the board for the Kohl Children’s Museum for two years and a board member of the Baxter Foundation in 2015.
Symeria received an MBA from Harvard Business School and Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama A&M University.
Symeria has been married to her husband, Gary Hudson for over 13 years, who has been a coach and mentor throughout her career.
